Progressive Poultry Training

The Minster Veterinary Practice has created a training department to research, create and deliver the training to meet the needs of staff in all departments and practice clients.

RDPE Landskills Programme

MVP Training has secured funding from the RDPE LANDSKILLS programme for England to deliver much needed training into the poultry sector of the UK. Training in the Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire region started in the Summer of 2008. Training in the North East region started in March 2009. We have recently been successful in recieving funding for both the East and West Midlands with training courses to commence in October 2009. We also hopes to extend this training to other parts of the country. The department also intends to create and co-ordinate training courses in other areas of the livestock sector in the future, utilising expertise within the different departments of the practice.

We are a founding member of XLVets which is a novel and exciting initiative, concieved from within the veterinary profession aimed at supporting UK agriculture. It is a new private company owned and run exclusively by vets looking to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The group is growing steadily and currently comprises over 30 of the foremost farm practices in the UK. With many years of combined experience, and a commitment to continuing professional development, we are able to give expert advice on all areas of farm livestock, health and production. MVP Training is proud to be proud to be associated with XL Vets and will act as a training service centre for the group, co-ordinating and CPD initiatives for member practices.

History

MVP Training was established in April 2008 and incorporated the following training businesses:

These businesses were created by Tricia Egerton in 1988 in the Hereford area to deliver training as both poultry courses and NVQ modules into the poultry industry. They sucessfully delivered training to clients on a national basis for 18 years. MVP Training aims to build on this solid foundation for developing courses for all sectors of agriculture and veterinary practices on a national basis
