The Minster Veterinary Practice has created a training department to research, create and deliver the training to meet the needs of staff in all departments and practice clients.
RDPE LANDSKILLS PROGRAMME
The department has secured funding from the RDPE LANDSKILLS programme for England to deliver much needed training into the poultry sector of Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire. It also hopes to extend this training to other parts of the country. The department also intends to create and coordinate training courses in other areas of the livestock sector in the future, utilising expertise within the different departments of the practice.
XL VETS
We are a founding member of XLVets which is a novel and exciting initiative, conceived from within the veterinary profession aimed at supporting UK agriculture. It is a new private company owned and run exclusively by vets looking to combine the ideas, skills and resources of member practices in an attempt to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The group is growing steadily and currently comprises over 30 of the foremost farm practices in the UK. With many years of combined experience, and a commitment to continuing professional development, we are able to give expert advice on all areas of farm livestock, health and production.
MVP Training is proud to be associated with XL Vets and will act as a training service centre for the group, coordinating training and CPD initiatives for member practices.
HISTORY
MVP Training was established in April 2008 and incorporated the following training businesses:
- Skill Solutions
- Progressive Poultry Training
These businesses were created by Tricia Egerton in 1988 in the Hereford area to deliver training as both poultry courses and NVQ modules in to the poultry industry. They successfully delivered training to clients on a national basis for over 18 years. MVP Training aims to build on this solid foundation and develop training courses for all sectors of agriculture and veterinary practices on a national basis.
